This year has already provided a large array of exciting and new films after more than a year of lockdowns and social distancing. Here are some of the biggest and most-anticipated films coming to theatres this October.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage”

For all the Marvel fans, the sequel to 2018’s “Venom” is finally here. According to IMDb, Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as one of Marvel’s funniest and appealing characters, Venom. Directed by Andy Serkis, the plot follows the alien-hosted investigative reporter Eddie Brock. Brock must face a new enemy, the alter ego of serial killer Cletus Kasady better known as the infamous Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson. Be sure to watch the after credits scene. 

“Last Night in Soho”

Moviefone states that “Last Night in Soho” is about an aspiring fashion designer, Eloise, played by Thomasin McKenzie, who is mysteriously able to time travel into the 1960s. There, she encounters a dazzling wannabe singer Sandy, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who immediately catches her eye and mesmerizes her. However, the glamour is not all it appears to be and the dreams of the past start to crack and splinter into something darker that will inevitably haunt Eloise.

“The French Dispatch”

“The French Dispatch,” a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper, brings to life a collection of stories from an American newspaper called the “French Dispatch Magazine,”in a fictional 20th-century French city. With the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Adrien Brody, Léa Seydoux, William Dafoe and much more, “The French Dispatch” provides audiences not only with an amazing cast but a true Wes Anderson Film that leaves you wanting more.

“Dune”

IMBd states that Dune is a “feature adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel, about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy.” Starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac and many more, Dune brings an action-based adventure and follows the growth of a gifted young man as he fights to ensure the future of his family and others from malevolent forces. Will Paul Atreides (Chalamet) be ready to face the destiny that awaits beyond fear? It’s time.

Halloween Kills”

Lastly, it wouldn’t be an October movie list without a horror movie making the list. Just when you think Micheal Myers is dead, he always comes back to terrorize the people of Haddonfield. According to Moviefone, Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode and prepares to fight the masked killer once again. As Laurie fights her lifelong nemesis, she persuades everyone in Haddonfield to rise up against the unstoppable killer. However, when a group of  survivors from  Michael’s first wave of violence decide to take matters into their own hands, a mob of vigilantes gathers to hunt Michael down. Will evil finally die this Halloween?
