Another student at the event, Daniela Garza, a marketing senior, said events such as this one are her favorite because you get to do something fun while relaxing.

Yahir Olvera, student assistant for the Center of Student Involvement, makes popcorn to give to students at the “Picnic on the Lawn” event Wednesday morning at the Chapel Lawn on the Edinburg campus. When planning events like this, the Center for Student Involvement considers that students may not have a lot of time, so quick snacks such as popcorn can give more students the chance to participate, according to Granados.
